Smoked, whole Roe, in 1kg vac bag Aquafresh smoked roe is made from the roe of fish caught in New Zealand waters, usually hoki, hake or warehou.  After brining our roe is smoked using South Island beech and manuka, then sliced and vacuum packed to seal in its fresh flavour and moistness.

Smoked roe is very tasty simply served on crackers with a sprinkling of cracked pepper. Be sure to spread it sparingly.

 Taramasalata is a Greek dip made with smoked roe. Place the following ingredients in a blender and blend until a smooth paste is formed: 200g of smoked roe, 4 slices of bread with crusts removed, soaked in milk,then squeezed to remove excess moisture, 2 cloves of crushed garlic, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1/2 cup olive oil & pepper. Serve with pita bread or crusty bread sticks.
